Casey,
It can be as much as $300 from Chi-Town. If it is more than $150, I do the bag drag. I only do it if direct to CUN and if I can save $150 or more. Its really not that big of a deal to do the bag drag.. I'd rather be stuck waiting for a ferry in PDC looking at the blue water, with a cold cerveza in hand, than waiting for a plane in DFW or IAH terminal. Really, really sucks to be sitting in the states due to a blown connection from weather or mechanical issue with the plane(s). Been there more than once.

I have done the bag drag a couple of times but I prefer to fly straight to CZM. For enough savings I'd do the drag again but it's rarely much cheaper from Austin.

This trip I saved $280 by staying an extra day. Oh, well, if I have to...

:D

I did the reverse bag drag last Thursday. Caught the 11am ferry and was at terminal 3 (international) at 1:15. Buses leave Playa every half hour and it is almost always easy to catch one just minutes after the ferry lands.

I always fly into CUN as well. Pretty sure it's actually faster to do JFK -> CUN -> Bus to Playa -> Ferry than having the layover and second flight in IAH or MIA. I'd gladly pay a bit more to fly directly into CZM, but no such option from NYC.

You probably have more options than we do --- PDX is a relatively tiny airport. We would have to do an overnight layover, or a layover coupled with a red-eye.

I do not do red-eyes.

Oh, for sure. One of the great benefits of living in NYC is the sheer number of flight options headed almost anywhere. Actually it's almost surprising there isn't a single direct flight to CZM from any of the three airports here.

I'm very surprised.
Thought you could get anything (and let your imagination go), in New York.

We flew to Coz in late March from PDX.
