Your unselfish concern for others is really touching.

I'd swear you are trying to be sarcastic, but for the life of me I can't see how anything in this thread is about some selfish motive you are attributing to me.........

I don't have a burglar break-in, or home invasion problem--the way my home is, it is almost impossible..and if any crook was ever foolish enough to try to break in, the police show up in less than 2 minutes where I live, and with what the crooks would have to go through, the police would be here long before there was any threat.....Yes, I do have a gun, but I would bet big, that I will never need to shoot a gun at a burgler.

The language I have used in this thread..the imaging, is going to be kind of horrifying. I think it has to be, because I can't think of many things more horrifying, than hearing that a Home Invasion just happened to someone that I care about. For that matter, it would be horrifying to hear about this happening even to some of the people that love to pull my chain on SB.

I'm not quite sure why you don't get that. The arguments in this thread are not against you or any of the other posters in the anti-gun religion....the arguments are against the anti-gun religion itself.

I'm envisioning some home invading goblin stuck to a wall, looking for all the world like a part of a giant butterfly collection...

So, what's the downside? lack of quick reloads? Would keeping a pile of pole spears handy as a form of "speed loading" solve that?

this post is a prime example of the creepy bloodlust on display by some of you guys

there's a longing there, an fantasising about violence. It's ****ing weird

I have seen creepy, I know creepy, trust me.

I also know blood list. That's not bloodlust.

If planning how to defend ones self is crazy talk, well I guess we are all crazy...

Hell I have plans for how to defend myself in a number of different situations at home and while out and about...

Sometimes using more rudimentary weapons than pole spear.

I see that as common sense.

But maybe that's just the gi Joe still trying to get our...

So phlegm. Enlighten us. Just how would someone of your ideals deal with a doped up invader in your home set on killing you and raping and murdering your family? Offer him the china? Or does this never happen in your part of the world?

Let me take a wild guess, you have never hunted for you own food. You probably think it is barbaric and ****ing weird. Buying plastic wrapped meat full of chemicals at the store is so much more civilized.

Maybe I can help.... if someone wanted to come to your house and murder your family, and they expected you to have a gun, surely they would just bring more men, and a bigger gun, no? Does that not put you back just where you started? The most bad ass "gun" that you can wield is the ability to not make yourself a target, and have a reliable way to call for help...

That sounds like a pretty solid plan to me... why bother with a gun? The street thugs are better at handling a gun than you will ever be, and yours may just come handy if for some reason they forget to bring their own.

When you need help NOW, the police are only minutes away.
The job of the police is not to protect people. It's to pick up the pieces afterwards, and collect evidence for the prosecution.

Umm... no. They're not. In my experience, "street thugs" lack the discipline to develop and maintain a high level of marksmanship. If they had much in the way of self discipline, they'd be educated and employed.
