Im partial to Maestro Tequilero, in particular Diamante Dobel. You could try that.

Tequila? I have foggy memories of you liking having a little captain in you!

Oh don't worry, I still like to hang out with the Capt, but I like a nice tequila too!

And it wasn't a "little" captain unless you consider an entire 5th to be a "little". I found the video from that night!

I've never been there, but there is a 'tequila factory' along the trans-highway. They do tours and tastings.

We went on this tour and it was quite good. You can't buy this tequila anywhere except at their stores. We tried at both the Cancun & Cozumel airports. We really like the blue tequila. I don't think you have to do the tour if you don't want too?

Ok I was looking for rum, but the Cozumel airport duty free store blows.....funny how the price of what I got was higher at the register than the list price. I like Mexico but you've got to hold onto your wallet until you get on the plane home!!

Personally we go for organic tequilas, there might be more out know, but the 2 we like I think are sold by US companies, not available in MX. I did find an organic blanco in Mega...or was in Chedrui? Was ok and didn't break the bank.

At the risk of sounding woefully uneducated, what does 'organic' mean exactly? I guess in the US you can get certified to not use chemicals and such, but how does that work if it is made in MX?

Regalo de Dios is my favourite so far. I can drink stupid amounts and not feel sick or hungover the next day. :blinking: Definitely the good stuff! It was a sad, sad day when I ran out of my stash...need to get more!

The Mayakoba flavoured tequila is a favourite too. Straight or chilled to smooth it out more. Mmmmmm... Soursop :love4:

Some of them used USDA organic certifications, I guess it must mean something?

I believe it works the same as the US, a marketing label and a boost in price. If that doesn't work then there is always a pink sticker waiting in the wings to shame you into not questioning the quality or price.
