The Titan is a good reg and a great breather. I'd be surprised if you could tell the difference breathing off that and almost any other equally tuned reg.

Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, just want a new toy or are about to jump into some very cold water personally I'd stick with the Titan. If you are expecting a noticeably better breathing experience from a newer and/or more expensive reg you'll likely be disappointed.

As another SB member, way more knowledgable than I, posted reg technology hasn't changed in any significant way for many years.

Don't get hung up on the idea that the new regs are better. The old Subzero mo5 / mk10 with a metal barrel G250 are great regs and in my opinion are better than a lot of new regs on the market. They are also cheaper than even the Hog regs.

Like another poster said, the Atomics are great regs. I have several. As he also pointed out the HOG regs breath just as well and are FAR less expensive. I love seeing divers who are looking toward the future and want to grow as divers. One of the nice features of the HOG regulators is that for people so inclined, you are able to learn how to service your own regulators. It may not be something you want to do now, but when I am teaching a class, inside a wreck, I want to know that the guy who serviced my regs was me.

Disclosure: I sell HOG regs and teach the HOG Regulator Service Course.

I have to agree with some of the rest, if you think there are significantly better breathing regulators than the Titan you are mistaken. Now it may be true that yours needs a good tuneup by someone who knows what they are doing and actually cares but that is not the fault of the reg. What you have to understand about regulators is 99% of the performance of the reg is detemined by the second stage alone and since you already have one of the best, most time proven designs ever made made in the first stage, changing it is a waste of money. That said, if you really want to "upgrade' and I use the term loosely, just buy a new second stage, one of the HOGs for example. It will save you a lot of cash and you will get just as much improvement (if any) as buying a complete new reg.

I like my Scubapro S600/MK25 but if I had to do it over I'd probably go with Atomic. They seem to have a better reputation, customer service wise.
