Maybe I am slow and don't quite understand the comment and its relevance to my expectation that a $750 dpv from Sea Doo should not have minor leaks in the o-ring seals area's out of the box.

Because a decent open water DPV will cost a minimum of $4000 new. Without meaning to be cruel, your Seadoo is a pool toy, not a serious DPV.

Probably closer to $2000-$2500 (see here Refurbished Sierra Package - Used/Refurbished Items - Dive Xtras), maybe more like $1500-$2000 if you can get a nice used Gavin. But spending $750+ on a Seadoo is like taking 1/2 to 1/3 of a decent DPV and tossing it in a shredder.

I was thinking of a Dive-X Cuda 400, which is the scooter I'm aiming for, but you're right - a Used Sierra or Gavin can be found for $1500-$2000.

I will research these suggested Options and really appreciate the scuba board feedback and information. Wow, $750 for a pool toy is amazing I am still in shock of Sea Doo and this poor product. The manufacturer reviews were very misleading with 5 star reviews on the SeaDoo, but at least this blog may help others to not make the same mistake.

Has anyone got a fix for the Explorer X if I use it in shallow water for transport?I have tried a couple things, but nothing has stopped the small leaks at the o-ring seals thus rendering it useless after 10 minutes in the water. (I suspect a major design flaw in what should be the water proof battery compartment).

It would be nice if Sea Doo support would just cop to the truth and come up with something for their customers.

Hello. I am new here and am hoping anyone can help me. I just purchased 2 seascooters and tried them out. They are the yellow ones. After charging the first one and trying it in our pool I was impressed. But the trigger didn't work. The master switch had to be all the way on and when it was it just kept running. the trigger was ineffective. We cruised around for awhile and went to put it away when it comes on again and keeps running even with master switch in off position. I had to take the battery out for it to stop running.

I put that one aside and opened the second one. This one seemed to work as it was supposed to. Master switch all the way on and it would only start when trigger was squeezed. We put it in the pool and it worked great for about 10 minutes. Then the trigger failed and it would just stay on until master switch was off. Luckily this one turned off.

I am at a loss here. I have called Daka and they are putting a call in to Hong Kong. It is the weekend so I probably won't hear from them till next week. I would appreciate any and all help or advise you guys/gals can offer. Anyone else have this problem?
Maybe it will help somebody after 15 years... :)
I had same problem - motor kept running all the time. So I've disassembled seascooter and replaced transistor IRL3303. (I've bought better version - IRLB3034) Now it's working.
I have SeaDoo VS Supercharged.
