Monroe county is on a roll!! spectacular day once again on the water in the upper keys! sunny skies, calm winds, and flat seas greeted us on buoy M29(northern deep mooring ball). timg and I dove again with Mario and tatianha this am. double dip, bluewater viz 60-70FT, zero current(light/mdt outgoing tidal flow 2nd dive), water temp 83-84F @ 55-90FT. lack of current enabled us to cover a lot of reef. terrific indigo hamlet hanging out @ the pin finishing dive #2. pics from timg,,,,,,,,,,

Beautiful pictures....thanks for sharing! I sure wish we could've had this kind of diving when we were in Key Largo the first week of July. Will try again. Headed to Jupiter on August 8 for a week of diving. I hope the dive gods keep the seas calm and the weather great! Throwing up in my regulator isn't something I want to do again :crying:.

Thank you islanddream. Yep, this month the weather has been weird. Have fun in Jupiter on the drift dives.

Yesterday we were on the inner side of Molasses and the viz was around 35 ft, conditions otherwise astoundingly good, flat seas, sunny, good companions! Planning to go this morning, raining predawn though--we shall see!! Just did a visuall wx check===OK, not raining Now at mm 102!!

i'd go diving. winds below 10KTS, you might have to dodge a few fast moving showers. hight tide at MO is @ 1451 today. viz looked great on the shallow buoys @ MO, although a bit green on our ride in. after 5 consecutive days on the water, i'm taking a break today. have fun,

The eel photo should be the subject of a caption contest.

timg believes that green moray has a deformity or likely an injury. he's observed and photographed him a few times on molasses,

And there I thought, that eel was just makin' fun of Tim(always wondered what exactly we look like to 'them');)

On the serious side, great pics, ... I'll be moving down there soon, and Molasses Reef just went to 'Top Priority' on my list ...

We went to Molasses again today--still about 30-35 ft viz., 84F water, almost flat seas, but some surge(where did that come from)! Saw an actual shark on Molasses shallow side--Caribbean Reef Shark, but later in the afternoon; winds were up to 16kts according to the Molasses Tower info............aargh!

And yes, I'm answering myself, which I OFTEN do!:D
