Maarten is a great guy so I was really pleased to see him getting a lucky sighting. You're pretty strange yourself :D

i would choose Amed for sure! Amed has the best diving in Bali. you can shore dive off the black sand beach and find pygmy seahorse, ghost pipefish, etc.. beautiful corals too. nice quiet town with great food and people.
i would not bother with liberty wreck because although its only half hour north of Amed, the vis is usually worse, the wreck gets very crowded, and theres more to see in Amed. The people in Tulamben not as friendly either, maybe because too many tourists.
i would not bother with Lembongan either. besides manta point which they often dont go to because of the weatner, theres not much to see besides coral and fish, and you have no choice but too very quickly drift past it all in a ice cold current. and the island is a dump.
if you are going to be around the east side of the island then Amed is the place to be!

From what these good folk have said in my Mola Mola thread, I guess it would have to be a 3-dive day trip to Nusa Penida / Lembongan. I am going to Tulamben afterwards but this Mola (hopefully) trip one is a separate day in itself.

you might get lucky in december, but mola mola season is typically july-october.
