It is also more likely that an alligator will sneak up on you if you are solo diving.

I didn't go back and reread every post, But don't recall any solo divers calling this dangerous or outside the scope of what he should be able to handle.... The ones telling him " NO " have no solo diving knowledge of their own....
So you drink beer before driving your scooter in a town where tourists are maimed on scooters all the time and you think the helmet is stupid?Wow what a read this has been. Now what I like to do when I stay at villablanca is first preposition my moped down at scuba club, jump on back of my wife's moped and go back to the bar across from the old scuba mau/opals dream and take a long leisurely solo dive back to scc, exit..have a couple dos Equis
, then jump on the moped and scooter back to villablanca with a big grin on my face. Only thing that blows it is that damned stupid helmet I have to wear on the scooter!
Has the diver made it back ?Seems like this is kinda the elephant in the room on here.
I am a novice diver. I remember my classes, telling me never dive alone. Yet, a lot of people seem to do this on Cozumel. I am staying at a place with unlimited shore diving. I have never shore dove, I hired the DM to give me a lesson on my first day, but that will hardly qualify me as an expert. If you stay close to the docks, stay shallow and use common sense, is this a big of a deal as some make it out to be? What are your experiences? I have fears of being chopped up by a prop (I know how stupid that sounds, then I read about the idiots who went under a cruise ship).
Flame, advise, insult, encourage. I want as much info as I can get.
Thanks.
:chuckle: Or did I call it wrong and he went into the water solo :nailbiter: and was never heard from again.... :sos::worried:
