Bought another compressor.

Its a Bauer 8.4 and just like my Kiddie that I keep on the boat - I will continuous blend Nitrox through a stick - as well as Trimix. Only now - I will be banking it....a lot of it!!

The current owner said that he has always used Nuvair 455 and has had 1100 trouble free hours with this oil. Is this still the best, and recommended oil for me to continue to use?

Thank You

Another bump fo an oil recommendation

I have a K14 and continous blend, but not banking. I would give you a recommendation but I get my oil in bulk from my local Bauer guy. I'm 99% sure he buys it from Lawrence Factor and puts his name and logo on it. I can't tell which oil it is. All I know is I buy it from him and it's pretty well priced and if he screws up the compressor it's all on him because he's my repair guy. If I were you I would just call Lawrence Factor. They're exceptionally helpful and all of their products are high quality. You may find it cheaper elsewhere, but unless you're buying it from one of the well known compressor guys on this forum or Lawrence factor, the quality of service and information you get may not be as good.

The 455 is their "food grade" oil and that's what is best for pumping enriched air. LX has a cross over number for it. My number is CF-2000 they recomend the food grade because it is more oxygen compatible than other oils. Is food grade the best in my opinion, no. Is food grade the best for pumping Nitrox in my opinion, hands down, yes.

Thank You for the reply!

So, if I am going to continuous blend, is the 455 the best option. I know it is a food grade synthetic, I just want to use whatever the absolute best option is. I ordered a gallon, and I plan on changing it every 50 hrs.

I feel that the CF-2000 is a better oil the 455 is good and there is nothing wrong with it, but as someone who sees the inside of these machines almost daily I know the CF2000 keeps the machine clean and works. We designed it from the molecule up to be the best possible compressor lubricant for enriched air pumping.

Are they both synthetic - and no "oil switching protocol " to worrk about?

You should do a short change if you are going to switch. Add the CF2000 do a good 30 to 40 minute run, change it again and you're all good to go. Yes both are a "food Grade" synthetic compressor lubricants.
