Have a local diver here in Colorado that is getting out of diving because of health reasons and the gear includes a legend LX which he bought new in 2004. HOw does that model compare to today's model? Any opinions on what a 2004 model is worth that is in excellent shape (well at least visibly)> I do plan on getting it serviced and sealed (i think that'll run me 130 bucks) if I do purchase it.

Any input is appreciated.

Legend LX

I see no need to get the new model cus the older lx is about as good as it get anyway.

I have 6 of them and taken them down to 70m without any problems at all. Breathes as good as on the surface. The other thing is the older regs have a urethane boot on the 1st stage is makes scratching them less likely.

The new model has the ACD (auto closure device) on the first stage, and they have integrated the venturi lever into the breathing control knob so the two functions are now one.

the prices I see are so dang varied from $200- $650 and higher and then add on the cost of getting them serviced and seald just doesnt make a used regulator much of a bargain... but if any of you know of a great bargin for quality, let me know.

Thanks for the feedback

If you get it at just $130 it's a steal. Service it for 4 yrs and sell it or learn to service it yourself.

If you want something affordable you can consider hog regs or the titan lx is a great buy.

Probably no different in functionality or performance, but today's Legend's 2nd stage, to me, has better built quality, not sure that is important to you

ive got a 06 (lx supreme) id be curious to know how the build quality is better on the newones?

Build quality on both regulator are very high, I fail to see this being a valid argument. the Newer legend (2012+) has a venturi and breathing adjustment in one knob and a myflex-like hose.

I have two older Legends LX Supreme with ACD, and don't feel the need to upgrade to the new Legend. (and I could get them under the keyman program).

If you have a Legend it does not get much better than that.
