Well, if you aren't doing a dive vacation and you are a new diver with air consumption issues then the benefits might not be there for you. News flash-you are not every diver. Some people are even getting the course for free or near free when taking their open water so probably worth it.

I am talking that you can get certified for Enriched Air but then unable to practice it due to availability and pricing.

Maybe YOU can be "unable to practice it due to availability and pricing" but what does that have to do with the great many divers in the world for whom that's NOT the case?

$5 air fills, $10 nitrox fills is what I am paying in central FL

I pay $6-8 for air or nitrox. I don't really dive air at all anymore.

There is nothing that says the shop has to buy the oxygen and put in the tank for you. If you are willing to take the time to do it right you can home brew your nitrox.

You might want to spend some time traveling and diving a variety of places before you try to make such sweeping statements as nitrox is difficult to get, and a useless cert.

Should have checked the prices before getting the nitrox cert. Here on the nature coast in Fl $5.00 air 10.00 nitrox:D
