I can't say enough good things about my LDS.

From giving me free air and free use of personal BCD, gauges etc when the rental units were all booked out, to free cold beers on a hot evening!

But to top it off today, I got a fantastic price on a Oceanic VT4 with transmitter. I don't want to give the exact price, but even after tax it was WAY less than what Leisure Pro and others are asking are asking.

I won't name the store here, but if anyone is looking for a great LDS in the Tempe/Chandler area of AZ, send me a PM.

So often, we hear folks griping about this and that and about the poor service they recieved. Those poeple never have a problem with mentioning the name of that buisness. If your LDS is doing such a good job, and you do not have a financial interest in it, I say go ahead and give em a pat on the back. I for one would not mind.

Oh please: NAME THE STORE!!! Too often people are quick to ID bad stores, that we should all be sure to ID the good ones. Just think: it will send them business and help them out! This is what social media is all about!

I wasn't sure if it was allowed.

The store is called All Wet Scuba.

I found them late last year when I came to Arizona after my honeymoon in the Maldives, where I went diving for the first time, and I was looking to get certified.

Did a Google search and found this store. When I first went there the folks welcomed me with open arms, and a cold beer!

Since then they've been nothing but great to me. As I said above, the owner gave me the loan of his personal gear when the rental gear was booked out - and then he wouldn't let me pay him for it!

Also, my wife is coming over in June, and she needs to get her OW in the first week so we can dive in Kauai. The owner is giving her a private class, one-on-one and not charging anything extra for it.

I must admit to being ashamed that I went looking online for a dive computer

Is this them? All Wet Scuba - Your guide to the best Scuba diving in Arizona

I always have to grin whenever I hear of a dive shop in Arizona: the all beach/no ocean state. :D They have their work cut out for them in promoting a sport that has limited application in their own state! Great job All Wet Scuba!
They definitely have their work cut out for them.
Customers see two things in retail stores, friendliness and price.
The friendliness part should be easy, just treat people like you'd like to be treated. Dive shop owners: you have a choice, you can be friendly or you can be an A-hole. It's harder and taps more energy to be angry and snippy.
Isolated dive shops like those in landlocked areas have to be extra creative and think of ways to serve customers. Dive travel becomes a big part and so does price point. They sell classes and trips then sell gear that is priced well so the customer doesn't have a reason to shop the internet.

You can either keep prices at 100% retail and make nothing, or reduce prices and make something.
Those are the two choices.

Don't worry about it they will get over it.
