Night life??? Coz?? ....ummm... I got nothing...LOL. THIS, is our ONLY issue with Coz. It has no real nightlife. We go out at night, to Wet Wendy's, Ohanas, just walking around TRYING to find anything...and Nada. We've determined for our dream Mex vacation/dive spot we need the diving of Coz, and the nightlife of PDC.

So stopping on the way home and shooting the bull with Mateo over the bar at OHana ISN'T nightlife?

I have to agree.

Been to the Money Bar a few times and one couple dancing to a Bob Seger cover tune while 3 tables and 6 staff members stare at them until the wee hours of 9:30 pm isn't what I'd consider night life either.

I have vague memories of maybe 10-12 years ago walking by Carlos and Charlies late at night with hundreds of people inside partying like crazy people. I think they were in a different location then today or maybe even it had a different name? What changed?

Try Viva Mexico or Tiki Tok. I have been there at 1 am and the places were packed especially on weekends.

What changed is that the cruise ships started pulling out at 6 or 7PM so the ship would get all that sweet drinking money instead of Coz bars. Apparently, divers just don't party it up enough. It's sad walking by C & C's and seeing an empty room.

That makes sense, they must have been staying later back then.

I think I read somewhere how cruise ships changed to their current schedules to control more of their customers spending, getting them back on board to party and spend money in their clubs and bars while they cruise to the next destination instead of leaving later and having that money get spent with the locals.

Also a new place called Zocolo - it is on the waterfront two doors down from Tiki Tok. But Tiki Tok has a great salsa band on weekends starting at 10 and a DJ plays dance music between sets, after the band stops and during the week - they are open until 2 or 3am during the week and until 5am on Fridays and Saturdays

Love Cafe has live music Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun and open until midnight and until 1 on weekends

French Quarter has a live band Fridays and Saturdays from 10 - 1 - but that will end in June or July - FQ will be changing ownership then and supposedly the new owner is making it into more of a sports bar.

Another new place is where 1.5 used to be, upstairs from Rolandi's - called El Muellicito. I hear the food is also great!

Then there is Dubai, a late night dance club, on 11th just off the corner of the waterfront. Room Service is a couple of doors down from Rock-n-Java and I believe is open only on weekends.

There is also Hard Rock Cafe (live music on weekends) Carlos and Charlies and Sr, Frogs.

Then of course there are a bunch of hole in the wall bars all over the place

Dubai is around the corner from my place. I believe they generate a number of the people I hear at about 2 a.m. on the street below our bedroom window. I recently awoke one evening to hear someone puking first in front of our place, then stopping to puke some more on a few stops down the block. Good times!

Dubai, hmmmm, didn't a young entrepreneur from Mexico City meet his maker not long ago near there?
Sounds like night life, or is that just gunfire??? .......
