I think it is 40' of of the Shark's right pectoral fin. 17' of water (depending on lake level). I will check my notes tomorrow.

If I get a drysuit in time I will be up for a trip to CSSP this Saturday CYP, I'll keep you up to date on that purchase.

Best,

Tejas

Cool. I hope you do get the dry suit. Are you going for new or used?

Thanks for the info. This might be my target to seek out on Saturday.

Going new closeout on some in-stock Whites drysuits. Just have to decide between the Legacy Catalyst and the Fusion Tech. Decisions decisions.

Go with the Fusion... I love mine. That being said, I haven't had to wear it this year. In fact, I haven't worn a wet suit. Did I ever tell you how much I love living here in Key Largo??? :D

I liked the fit of the Fusion better, but the Catalyst had a custom setup with a Pony bottle pocket and another MOLE pocket on the other leg and even a custom front zipper for when you need to, well you know.

The Catalyst was baggier and felt like a lot of excess hanging off of me but felt like it would hold up to abuse over the years a little better than the Fusion suit. The Fusion was a perfect fit and was very streamlined but it was a bit of a struggle to get on and off. I was a bit over worked and sweaty after taking that thing off.

I will make my decision on Thursday, but I am leaning towards the Fusion Tech suit.

Best,

Tejas

LOL....alright, Pete, quit rubbing it in! I'm hoping to get to the Keys this year, and I certainly plan on dropping in on you and your boss....uh, I mean....SO. :D

I'll need a guide for the Keys, are you up for it?

Dude, Thursday? Can I persuade you to make that tomorrow (Wed) and go without whatever shipping (LDS or other) that makes it to you Friday? Yeah, yeah, I know....self serving as I need a CSSP buddy for Saturday, but still.....missing out by one day would just s#$k. LOL.

Always. :D But don't expect me to wear a wet suit! :D

Whats the name of the taco place? i would like to give it a try...

Hey Cyp,
I don't blame you for staying home, nothing wrong with spending time with the family on a cold winter day:-) As for myself, it was the only free weekend I had, so had to proceed with the plan. On Saturday, I was never cold, well, probably my hands, but only for a few minutes:-) That's the beauty of diving with a drysuit, subfreezing temps are no longer an issue.

Don't beat yourself up too much, there'll be more subfreezing days to come before spring. I'll probably head north sometime in March when the bottom temps hit the low 40s, will just text or pm you.

Here are some topside and u/w photos from last Saturday's dive.

Perfect diving weather

First dive, set my compass for the cabin cruiser, missed that entirely, but instead found this croc.

Found the biggest turtle in CSSP. I also saw what looked liked an albino catfish, but I think I must've cooked the sucker with my strobes.

Shark -- more like Megalodon

After diving, always hit this taco shack in Terrell. IMO, one of the best and cheapest tacos that can be had:) Sadly, they don't have huevos del toro and seso, so opted for Cabeza de res, lengua and al pastor.

Dive safe everyone.

Enrique

Always. :D But don't expect me to wear a wet suit! :D

Just as long as you are wearing something, we're good. Lol.
