March 2012 ...The "Who's in Cozumel" LIST!!

Hi, I'll be in Coz from 3/16 to 3/21. Looking to do 3 or 4 mornings and at least 1 night dive. I've never been there, so I'm looking forward to my trip. Not sure which dive op I'll be going with. I'm staying at the Presidente... any suggestions? I was thinking about diving with Scuba Du, but I'm a little worried about short dives since I've heard they make everyone surface together.

FYI - you should probably start a new thread about this rather than posting here.

Since you are a new diver, I would just make sure they put you on a boat with other new divers. I think Scuba Du has several boats, but it is best to communicate with the dive op and let them know. Some dive ops will allow experienced divers to go up alone (buddy team, that is), but since you are so new, that will depend on how the DM evaluates your skills.

Thank you for your responses. My wife Rhonda and I are booked for Feb 29 to March 10. We are probably going to stay at the Presidente. But we really could use advice on a quality dive shop. We have 50 dives each so we are still new but very comfortable. I do not need my hand held, but, like you all, we are pretty keen on safety, cleanliness, and trustworthiness of the DM. If people have concerns with posting names of dive shops publicly, perhaps you can DM me? We would really appreciate the benfit of others' experience.Fred
