On a recent dive, my Suunto D4 (in the most conservative setting) mandated 15' deco stop for me, while according to my buddy's computer he was OK to go w/o any deco stop. No problem with that - algorithms vary among computers, and u can even set your comp to more or less aggressive dive profiles settings. Also, the computer calculations are two levels more complex, taking into account the actual real dive while tables are only an approximation. And, if i decide to plan the dive based on tables then i just carry out my plan, with the computer being an "intelligent backup" of what i got on my slate.
However, for sake of planning, it would be nice to know at least what is my computer thinking, what she is going to tell me after i hv spent certain amount of time at certain depth, something similar when i look into tables and know how much time i have at each given depth.
I do not have the instruction manual with me right now, but i dont think i remember any tables or values being there. Thx!
