I have the Oceanic EOS Swivel Reg. Is there a way to take it in and get the swivel removed and connected to a non swivel set up??
I have post a link to the reg here: Oceanic Worldwide - EOS Pneumatically Balanced Scuba Diving Regulator

What I would like to do is to better streamline my current set up with different hoses, but the swivle seems to stop many of my attempts. Also I have the Proplus2.1 with the quick disconnect, the hose for this seems really long and bows like crazy, can I get a shorter hose??

Yes you should be able to get the EOS to be non swivel. If you do I would get a max flex hose for it so you have more flexablility. As far as the Pro Plus 2.1, I don't think you can. They are standard sizes.

I put a miflex hp on my proplus. When you do it you will have to remove the whole quick disconnect and add a hp spool.

That's what I was afraid of with the computer, so much hose to just float around. Do you have one? If so, how have you solved this issue?

Thanks

[I can live without the disconnect. Can I get a HP spool from LDS or order online, what is it that I am looking for exactly? Did you do it or take it to your LDS?[/I]

You can get the HP spool from any LDS. No need to order it. You can also put the comp on a shorter hose standard or mi-flex type. Any LDS should be able to do it. As for the EOS am I correct in assuming you are going with a 5ft or 7 ft hose and putting your octo on a bungee? If so you do not need to use braided LP hoses. Standard ones don't flop around and seem to lay better.

Yes, Jim, trying to clean up all the loops and such. Everything is standard from when I bought it. It's just that the hoses are tooooo long and get snagged on trees and such UW. I would go with the 5' hose, as there is no place to tuck the excess hose from a 7'. Have tried that and there is a hose mess when it floats off me. As you can see in my avatar, everything floats everywhere. I have tried connecting my computer to the opposit side of my, which cleans the hose up a lot but then I have a hose connected across my body. I will someday go to the bp/w but not just yet. I just want to clean up and streamline my current set up. As I am still working on my trim and such and no amount of gear is going to fix that. I wish it could, but I just don't think it will happen. Thanks for any imput you can give me.

The 5ft will be fine for you. Put your octo on a 22 inch and bungee it. The Pro Plus is a nice computer but big. Do you use it with the compass? If not then a 24 inch HP hose will be fine. If you are using it with a compass have the compass removed or do it yourself and put it in a wrist mount. A 24 inch hose will not be enough to let you use the compass effectively. You will be pulling too hard on it to get it into position to keep it level and stable. I have one reg set up with a console and it has a 30 inch hose. Not crazy about it but that is usually my pool reg and 30 is the least I can use with a compass in the console. Definitely do not go to mi flex or any braided type hose if you are going to go with a long hose set up. UNLESS it would be the one on the bungee. I've not tried that yet but that is one I would consider using it on. Hmm, I may have to order one in to try.

Yes, the compass is on the console, but good idea of removing it. Can I get one of the mounts for the compass that has the strechy loops for your wrist? I have a compass for my wrist with the plastic watch type strap, and I have issues keeping it on my wrist when my suit compresses. I hate the compass in the console anyway, I have issues seeing it and keep it level. Is there a certain hose that will not float as much???? My daughter uses a miflex for her primary reg and it does not seem to float as much. Anything else that sticks out from my avatar that I can clean up???
