Tunnels was 75-76 degrees

Capt'n Kurl was 69-73 degrees

The other jdc boat radioed ours. It went to a site near Area 51 and it was less than 60 degrees!!! They high tailed it north (to Tunnels, I believe) for their second dive.

Thanks! I think.

I've been lucky recently. Typically, an octopus in a bottle simply starts to crawl out as I slowly make my way around. The movement of an arm or a head popping out of the beer bottle draws my attention. I've also seen a few octopi roam around, come towards me and then crawl into a nearby bottle. Don't know if the area I am diving is a bit more suited to finding bottled octopi or not. There are a lot of discarded bottles in the area!

Concentrated on a different area today. I would now call it the octopus area. :D Definitely a different octo experience. Also experimented with three diopters stacked on my 60mm octo for a total of +7. Just sitting down to start through the pics after a couple of hours at the (clay, public) tennis courts that we found today. A few Miller Lites and the Masters on TV - it just don't get much better than this. . . :D Also found a little five or six inch batfish. No polka dots, and the furthest that I could focus from his face was just a little too close for his comfort level.

Jees.....I'm thinking about actually jumping off a boat next weekend. May wait until it warms some more. I'm a wuss.:anonymous:

Occasionally one finds something different peering out of the bottles.

And, sometimes it just the same old. . .

No clue, but it's about as cool looking as any I've ever seen. I'm honored to have diven within a hundred yards of the thing. Something else to keep an eye out for down there. . .
