Does anyone know what the tipping is like at this AI? I've been to a bunch of them and the traditions tend to very a little. I'm trying to put a budget together to compare it to a Blackbeards trip and I want to put estimates for Marine Park Fee, Tipping, Airport Transfers and Departure Tax. ( Is the departure typically built-into the airfare or do you pay seperate at the airport? I know I paid it at the airport when I went down there but that might have been because I was flying on standby as a Continental pass rider. )

Departure tax -- included in your plane fare
Airport Transfers --- 5.00 to 7.00 depending on how you go
Marine park fee ---- 2.00 per day
Tipping --- 1.00 goes a long way in Mexico, Tipping is a personal thing

Last time I was at Hotel Cozumel I tipped the bartenders & maids and the few dollars were well recevied.

Hope this Helps

I generally tip DMs $5/tank and there will be a DM per 8 divers or less per park rules. I leave the room maid a buck or two a day, but they are so honest and so careful that I've had trouble with them taking it - so I leave "for maid" note the first day. They may not actually know the words, but they've seen them before. Some tip more than I do. You may have different DMs some days and different maids any day so I tips as I go. An envelope of several $1, $2, $5, $10, and $20 is nice to pack; yeah banks have $2 bills on request and they work well. For my daughter & kids' cruise, I gave them a few hundred packed that way for Xmas. $50s & $100s are a problem to break at times, but be sure none of your bills have marks or tears.

Cabs are not tipped so much - see http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/cozumel/368667-taxi-tipping.html - but if the AC works well, the car smells ok, and he helps with bags, an extra buck is nice.

That's great! The more of us gals the merrier! :D

How are dive sites selected? I know there is at least one nice wreck, and lot's of swim thrus that are fun to dive. Will all the sites be basic sites, or will there be trips to the wreck and swim thrus?

Mike
Dive Paradise lets the divers on the boat choose the dive site, unless there is something they want show everyone.

PS: Great job on the new banner NetDoc, I love it !!!!!!!
