There are some very good distinctive specs around. I know that a fellow SB member wrote one modelled on fundies. There are a few around that are good pre-tech development courses. There are 'doubles' courses. Redundant air courses. You name it... there's some very good ones out there. I wrote an advanced recreational wreck spec and a tech wreck course, but haven't submitted it yet (waiting to see what PADI may introduce as standard).

There is. It is called PADI's Master Scuba Diver

Good point. There goes my business idea. PADI beat me to it.

Dave,
you are always so funny.

Maybe I should design a specialty for virtual divers?

Seriously .... we got already dozens of specialties approved by several agencies :D

Alberto (aka eDiver)

There's a dearth of ship wrecks here in Belize, so I developed the PADI Wreckless Diver distinctive specialty.

Rather than take a bunch of "awareness" courses, why not take actual collegiate courses in marine biology, marine environment and conservation? I know....those take time, studying and you're not virtually guaranteed to pass.

"You wasted $150,000 on an education you coulda got for $1.50 in late fees at the public library."

Good Will Hunting

It does sound like a fun class, though, and the lowdown on the hunting aspect with a guide... very cool idea.

I had an ex girlfriend that gave me an "expert diver" card once... I think she meant something different though.
