You could even get a binder and do a search here on scubaboard and find printable log book pages and make your own logbook if you really want to economize... and probably end up with a better log book.
Be weary of buying used PADI materials. They want you to tear out the quizes that are required in class and turn them in. In the event you get a used book it most likely will not have these quizes in them thus make you just have to buy a new one.
I would try get the materials on line thought the padi site or just get them with the course your doing at the dive shop.
The problem with second hand padi material is that padi ask for a special skicker to be sent off with each course completion aplication. This shows that you have contributed by buying their course material .
If you get it second hand you wont have that sticker!
