I don't like the ad ether, the images used in this context are tacky

Even having the ad with the exact same wording would have been less so without the pics but I'm going with .. please make another ad

FWIW, I am in the middle of creating the next tacky ad... it will be replaced as soon as I have a replacement for it. Again, my apologies to anyone offended by it.

FWIW #2: All my ads are tacky and tongue in cheek. Since we don't make any money off of these trips, I can't afford to hire a professional. Instead, we pass the savings (it's the commercial rate) on to anyone who wants to come. Hey, at least it's good to know that my ads are getting noticed.

Yeah, but If you had a choice between the two, I'm sure you would rather them being noticed in a good way :)

I am in the military. While you could call the ad tacky, I don't find it offensive. Just my two cents...

The ad presents the following question to all war veterans: "Why did you go to war? Why didn't you just go swimming?" It IS insulting. For many there was no choice. Some fought voluntarily "for a good cause". And they all suffered greatly.

Tacky I can agree with! I also thought the previous one with a shot of bikini-clad babes was tacky, though I can understand that others may not share my perspective
I liked the silly one with the lizards, though (but for some reason can't remember the play on words it used).

I was somewhat shocked at what I felt was an insensitive ad myself. I understood that the message was not intended that way, and was actually trying to use a bit of humor, but it was bound to touch raw nerves.

Unlike Quero, I didn't respond the same way top the bikini ad. Must be a guy thing? :D

You cant please everyone all the time. Some people are just very sensitive and some are not.

I am not at all bothered by the ad, my husband served 6 years in the Marines (felt like a millions years), my father served as a helicopter door gunner in Vietnam ( I had no idea who he was until he came home when I was 3), my father in law served in Vietnam, not to mention all my uncles. When I first saw the ad I thought it a little strange, but it did make me wonder what the hell what was going on with the new ad, as I liked the lizard one. But it did make me stop and wonder. This ad got a reaction out of you and that is what an ad is to do.

But, I see Netdocs side. I thought an ad was to provoke you, and this ad has done that. What is that saying, about even if someone is talking bad about you at least they are still talking about you (I am kind of like Zeva on NCIS, I can and do screw up any sayings).

Now if Netdocs wants to change it he could, and do a compare and contrast to working the 9-5, house work, all the stuff I hate, but it would not be interesting or get your attention. I don't think the lizard ad got its own thread. However, this ad has, can we use this thread as a means to measure how the ad performed???
