The terrorists don't have to blow up a plane ... they just have to keep the American public fearful ... and the TSA is doing that job nicely ...

That reminds me of one of my worst predictions ever. Around September 12, 2001 I expressed the view that the 9/11 attacks would mean the end of Islaamic terrorism. As Bob said, the idea of terrorism is to terrorise, not to maim and kill innocents. I thought this was just a much bigger version of the Omagh bombing which also killed innocents (on a much smaller scale though) and caused such revulsion that it effectively brought about the end of Irish terrorism by completely choking off any moral support.

Sadly, I was dead wrong.

Like others all I can say is get over it or stay home. Look until ACLU and probably a lot of those who are crying about being "molested" come to terms with PROFILING this is what you get. Frankly I am shocked when my camera gear DOES NOT require a scan. I am olive skinned guy, with funny equipment and get the enhanced search 8 out of 10 times. We really have become a country of whinners.

and (if true) the persons comments to that news article about TSA not changing their gloves after touching someones private eras and then inspecting yours ... that sounds OK, doesn't it?

Sorry you feel like that about our constitutional rights. I am assuming you don't have or can't imagine your 14 year old daughter going through this scan and/or enhanced pat down.

They should make two lines.

One for those who care about their privacy and constitutional rights and one that prefer security scan mockery to make them feel secure.

Then we'll see which line people will choose.

Our soldiers put their LIFE (and possible well being of their family)on the line to help give us our liberty and ensure our freedom and safety. And some of you are not willing to walk into a body scan machine to help ensure the saftey of your fellow passengers?

And some of you are not willing to have a scan but will jump in the ocean with 100's of hammer heads in sometimes strong ocean currents in the Galapagos Islands. I really must be a daredevil cause I am willing to do both.

And one more. If I am willing to wear a skin or wetsuit in front of all the people on the boat, I do not think what a scanner reveals will be a problem. If you get called out for the patdown then strip down to your speedo and gross everyone out. (or at least in my case) :)

I will not be cancelling any dive trip on account of this.

Guess which group will miss the most flights
