Not a rant but just a notice to see if anyone else has experienced this or how OxyCheq might react. I just emailed OxyCheq but I have not heard back from them yet so will wait a few days.

Purchased an OxyCheq Mach V Razor Wing on 6/19/08 from ScubaToys which I know is approaching a little over 2 years. Called them and they were happy to send it out but the issue is they said it might take 2-3 weeks and I was hoping to use it on a dive trip in two weeks so I figured it might be better to try to go through OxyCheq directly.

This weekend I noticed one of the seams leaking and was about to patch it when on further inspection almost all the seams are leaking! Ouch. Any experience this? It is one of their bladder less wings. Never had any problems with their products before this.

Do you think they will cover it? It's a little over 2 years old and has barely seen in use.

I'm normally not one to complain at all but it seems like an obvious manufacturer defect if almost all the seams are leaking, no?

Again, this isn't a rant or bash as I have no heard back from them yet. Hoping they will make it right.

...might get a ST deal on a backup wing, always good to have spare/back up mission-critical gear, ST treats customers well, I doubt you can meet your deadline if ST can't do it, nobody can. I have no experience with bladderless wings, I've got 3 Oxy EXTREME wings which have been 100% reliable/awesome.....I can leave them fully inflated for MONTHS on end in storage and they don't lose any air pressure over that time period, so I'm stickin' to bladder-wings, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You'll have better luck dealing with ScubaToys. Patrick told me when I approached him with the backup light issue that he doesn't deal directly with customers anymore. His words were ... "that's why I have dealers".

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

And ScubaToys is one heck of a dealer. They'll treat you right (or even better).

Right so an update ... Oxycheq has had my wing since August 6th. I still havent heard anything. Came back from vacation, no emails/calls or anything. I called them today and it's still not done, no estimate or nothing. They're also claiming that these holes had to come from something else which I find bull****, I take good care of my equipment. I'm not one to bad mouth companies but I dont think I will ever buy an Oxycheq product again. They havent even given me an estimate on the cost yet. Even if there was one hole caused by puncture, the marks I saw all suggested it was leaking from the seams and in multiple places. I really dont see how they could happen. In fact, it's the first time i've ever experienced this with any scuba equipment.

Should I just call them and have them send it back to my unrepaired and deal directly with ScubaToys.com?

So at this point I wasted my money shipping it to them, dont have an estimate and dont have a working Oxycheq wing. Argh...

Were I you, I'd get a back up wing for your trip.

Too late now. Just got back from trip. Bought a new HOG 32# wing and was now planning on keeping the Oxycheq as a back up. Love the HOG wing. Maybe the Oxycheq will make a good dart board now?

Wow, just wow.

September 16th. Ha-vent heard ANYTHING back from Oxycheq. It's been well over a month since my initial and previous phones calls. No emails, letters or phone calls. I dont like to bad mouth companies but how useless are they? I will NEVER buy another Oxycheq product again nor will any of my friends?

Why do they need 1+ months to inspect my wing and blame me and tell me I abused it?

Moral of the story..dont buy ANYTHING from Oxycheq.

October 25th. Sent another email.

UPDATE: Received an email from Patrick. Still waiting for end result but he said they should have it back at Oxycheq the next of the week as it was sent to the factory for repair.
