Phil,
If you go to eScuba a bright idea - Australian distributor for SeaLife snorkeling and scuba diving cameras you can set up an account which will give you access to the online Service, Repair and RMA form. Just follow the directions and send the camera to us and our technician will evaluate it and help you to fix the problem. eScuba Service, RMA and Repairs

Hi
I have read your RMA form and the camera isn't under warranty as it is over 1 Year old. I don't want to spend money on it when it would seem to be a design fault not something that can be repaired. Sealife USA sent me another housing and again it failed at around 40m+. At 40m the shutter jams and at 50m the the rear case buttons make contact inside the case usually the delete button first. But the case never leaks which is a plus..... I was hoping that as Sealife is aware of the design issues with the DC800 & DC1000 it might have had a fix or an upgrade policy to the DC1200 which i believe they addressed these design issues.

I am having the same problem with my DC800. My original housing worked great. But had the metal lanyard loop come free from the housing. Sealife service was great and replaced the housing. Now this replacement housing has the same problems you describe at depth. I have just sent mine back to SeaLife under RMA. I hope they have a fix for this. There service on their products have been great, so I am hoping everything will work out. Will keep everyone updated to what SeaLife has to say.

Similar issue with mine but not really complaining. It didn't implode on last ride to 205. Buttons get difficult to use at 150 which is expected due to the pressure and nonfunctional at 170. Trick is just to leave on and start video at 150. Then later carve up the video.

ctyhallcoolio,
Even though these depths are outside the recreational limit the camera is rated to 200ft. You might want to contact Sealife's Serivce Department to see if the problems are a warranty issue. service@sealife-cameras.com

Sealife ended up replacing my housing on my DC800. Unfortunately, I haven't taken it diving much since getting the new housing. The comments back from the SeaLife tech was that the buttons get wear marks or scratches in them that cause the shutter button to stick in the down position.
