I am soo embarassed! I called my LDS and got really upset with the poor girl on the phone...she told me there was no such course. I didnt believe her.

So, pull legs, much?

I'm thinking of calling my LDS just to have some fun!

Bev? :shocked2: She'll kill you!! :rofl3:

Can you record it?

Bev is in Key Largo for mini-season. It'll be the temp help! MUCH more fun.

I got this wing used and it smells HORRIBLE. Like... mildewy lake water full of dirt and muck.

Any tips on how to remove this stench? It still smells bad after going through a salt water dive, fresh water rinse, and two freshwater soaks.

Get a jacket style BC. (I can't believe this thread made it this far without that comment....the Pub guys are slowing down)

I would full the bladder with bleach added to fresh water.
Dip the wing in the same solution let it sit for about 5 minutes, rinse with fresh water and let it hang in the sun. The sun is the best disinfectant. Yes, the sun will wear out the material faster but you'll only have to do this once.

Hey! I said that already! :scorned:

Okay, I know it's Wiki, but its sources seem good . . .

Looks like we're more exposed to 2-Butoxyethanol a lot more than we think.

That's why I said I feel so helpless when it comes to petro-chemicals. You cannot escape them. Everything is made from petroleum, and Simple Green is certainly one of the more benign in the scheme of things.

Don't get me started on Corexit. Corrects what? The multi-million gallon disaster to the Gulf? Yeah, I'm sure the critters are happy with the results.

jepuskar, I think sabbath999 was joking. Maybe you are too.. but I cannot really tell.

There's a running joke about the countless PADI certifications out there.

Without knowing a thing about jepuskar I can assure you that your first assumption was the correct
one.

The only way to fix the problem is to get a Spare Air, fill it completely and then purge it into the wing. Repeat as necessary until the odor dissipates. It may help to fan the air with split fins.
