I would think orally inflating with it when it's full of all sorts of things growing inside would be a good way to get a lung infection, which would be my concern, rather than how bad it might smell at 60'.

How about changing to a Zeagle BX inflator so the thing can be flushed with a garden hose. Then run in something to kill the mildew and flush well.

Simple Green has many chemicals not healthy for humans and other living things to ingest. It was featured in the Consumer Reports "Green" issue just a couple months ago.

I wouldn't use it inside the bladder, for reasons previously stated regarding oral inflation.

I believe smelling it at 60ft will cause it to smell 2.82x worse than at the surface.

Do you have a link to the report? I searched for quite some time and can't find any listing for "Simple Green" connected to any Consumer Report. On another website I did find some question about one chemical listed as being in the product that is under scrutiny (not listed as a toxin, nor are all ingredients required to be listed on cleaners), but that was about it.
I ask because I use Simple Green for my BC, inside and out, as well as for soaking gear after multiday trips, and have used it since it became commercially available. I dilute it quite a bit, but it still seems to do the job. I would be really interested to find out if their non-toxic and environmentally friendly claims are invalid.

I just did a searrch at Consumer Reports: Expert product reviews and product Ratings from our test labs and didn't find anything.Are you sure it was Consumer Reports?

I'll try out the mouthwash right now since I dont have any simple green on hand.

Final effort . . . put a cup of bleach in a trash can (33gal) of water. take your inflator hose an your dump valve off. Dunk the wing, let it set maybe five minutes - no more! hose it off, inside and out. If possible, have another clean water trash can to stick it in and soak it after hosing.
Still stinks? Do it again. Stress on the clean water soak after the hosing, or just hose the heck out of it. Bathtub, maybe?
You have to weight the destructive power of chlorine against the bacteria / mold / mildew killing abillities. Whatever you do, do not leave it to soak in the bleach solution.
