You are over simplifying this by limiting it to only 8-10 people. That is simply not the case. The polarization was seen in many, many threads and not just one. The thanks that I have received in PMs from individuals for eliminating this feature is running 3to1 over the few in this thread who are making this out to be a bad decision.

The universe did not come to an end. We are still a community and a forum.

You obviously read my post, yet chose to ignore the first thing I asked you.

I have seen many people ask how "it has contributed to an unhealthy polarization of the community"? Yet no response from NetDoc has been forthcoming.

I don't think "communistic" describes how the board is run, but it is a common inflammatory pejorative. The work is mostly done by committee and we do experiment quite a bit. If something doesn't work, we can usually change it back or modify it. So far, in spite of our collective ineptitude, we have become the largest community of divers on the internet. I am sure that someone with better skills will come along some day and put us in our rightful place. Apparently that cyber messiah has not yet arrived.

I also apologize if you took my comments in any way but jest. I even included a smiley to indicate as such. Alas, but my humor is oft lost on a select few!

I have to reiterate to the few (apparently) that are so against the THANKs protocol of some. Do you all really lead such perfect lives that this is the tops issue in life to deal with? You are a lucky group. I am one of the ones that has no idea of how this can be the huge issue that is apparently is. Pete, I accept that the ability is gone and will be coming back in a modified form. That is your perogitive. I am not in any way fighting that. That is why some many of the so called abusers chose to not participate in this thread until Jenny decided to sling mud. We were taking the high road in an effort to not cloud the issue. In fact, many of our responses to posts in this thread have not been posted to help keep the peace. But the reality is, this is a small issue blown out of proportion by a select few with hidden agendas.

I welcome the new ScubaBoard program as soon as it rolls out. I have said my piece.....that is all.
