Geezuz, you guys are only diving, not going to the Moon...why two computers, waste of money, go on a vacation instead :)

I have two and sometimes use them. Usually one in computer mode (IQ-700) and one in gauge mode (Veo200). When the IQ-700 goes into deco mode you don't get runtime so that continues with the Veo.

I have two mainly because I prefer the IQ-700 but bought the Veo 200 first. I like to have two computers whether I always wear them or not. A failure in one doesn't mean I have to rush to go and find another one.

(Among other feature I love the battery changing method in the IQ-700 and hate it in the Veo).

I use two computers. Suunto D4 since this was my first computer and my old logs are still there and Uwatec Galileo. My new computer (6 months old) with wireless interface. Best computer ever.

I wear two Suuntos on all my recreational dives, a Vytec and a Stinger.

My primary is a Liquivision, but I bring along an Aladin Tec 2g on liveaboards. The X1 is running VPM at the moment, the Tec 2g some variant of Buhlmann.

I use an Uwatec and a Suunto D9. I bought the backup Uwatec Smartcom when its predecessor, an Uwatec Air Z Nitrox, died, because I was familiar with the software and because I wanted to maintain continuity in my dive log. A crashed hard drive and a trans-continental move later my dive log is totally scattered, and I probably won't be buying another Uwatec when this one dies.

Most of the time I only use one computer (Aeris Atmos AI) because they are training dives that I'm supervising to less than 40 feet. On dives deeper than 60 feet I'll wear my Dad's Beuchat Maestro Pro on my left wrist as a backup for time and depth. It's made by Cochran so it's the same design as all their others. On my last dive (yesterday) I noticed that it didn't give me a countdown for my safety stop coming up from a 70ft dive. I'm thinking of getting either the N2Ition or the N2Ition 3 but haven't decided yet.

I have computer redundancy, my brain as well as my dive buddys.

Does GUE training come with the obligation to post this sentence, or is it optional? If optional, has anybody actually opted not to? Just curious.

Or.... do I really feel this is true? I'm curious does your NAUI/PADI training obligate you to respond or is it optional?
