Well its almost summer again and I'm thinking of dragging my butt back home....i mean Utila... for a month or so in July or August. Hows tourism? Did it ever pick back up after the dismal showing last year due to the media spin machine or is it still suffering? Personally I just cant wait to get wet and grab tres baleadas from the wonderful ladies who cook across from Banco Atlantida. Anything i should know, like changes with the ATM, all the Salva Vida run out :rofl3:... yada yada or is it all still like i figure and just beautiful laid back days and business as usual. Lmao hopefully I have better luck then my friend who went down about a month ago for 3 weeks out on the cays...broke his hand after I think the 3rd dive and had to scuttle it all and come home early. Heartbreaker!

A lot less worried about stuff than the first time you went down.:rofl3:

Good:lotsalove:on ya'!

Please be sure to read the other Bay Islands/Honduras horror story threads so that you, too, may be appropriately:nailbiter:frightened.

Well now that you mention it, the National Enquirer did report a strange dinosaur type monster victimizing the coastal areas of Honduras :gator:...I mean be honest...Is it SAFE to travel there right now with rampaging carnivorous monsters? Honestly...I dont mind getting malaria, ate alive by noseeums and swamper iguanas or embroiled in riotous :maniac: political upheavals near as much as i hate the idea of being chewed upon by a prehistoric eatadiversaurus.....or running out of beer;).

And yup I have to admit though...I too was once overly concerned about nothing :shortbus:. Not too embarrassed though. I wised up (with help:bash:) had the time of my life on a beautiful and dinosaur free island. Made friends, made memories and looks like i made a habit as well.:D

Thwock.

No more pink tanks for you. (That mighta' been the strangest part of it all)

:shocked2:LMAO Dammit those pink tanks were my daughters...I will never, ever let her dive with a pink tank again lol

We've noticed a significant uptick in our bookings for 2010 so far. We've been booked for 8 weeks so far this year. I hope that this is indicative of a continuing recovery across the bay islands. It's a great time to visit.

Laguna Beach Resort was full with the exception of a couple of days the week we were there and they were full this week too. The other dive boats we saw looked full.

I will most certainly let you know if I can cause a Salva vida shortage next week. Report will come.

:shocked2:

Cant wait...but really...I think it is always a great time to visit 365/yr

That is wonderful. I remember staying some with Laguna last year and I was one of only 3 guests at the entire resort. So glad to hear things have picked back up...but I have to admit it was kinda nice having the resort to myself basically ;)
