You think it is ok to eat and use the animal products you like but that other people should not have the same luxury.

I did not say that.

Maybe you have me confused with someone else. Or maybe you are trying to force a point by putting words into my mouth.

My point is this- The humane treatment of an animal is killing it in the quickest and most painless way possible, whether its a sick/injured pet a serial killer or dinner.

The methods used by whalers have a high probability that the animal is injured and will suffer before death, being that they are shooting from a moving platform a large distance from the target. I question the humanity.
Another fact that hightens my concern is the same cultures treatment of sharks for their consumption. That sickens me.

... Can you go out and catch/kill your dinner?
Quite often
And doesn't it taste good?
Very!

I agree with all of this, except the serial killer. A slow, painful, agonizing death would be my prescription. But that's just me.

You can...but if everyone did it...there wouldn't be a wild animal left on the planet.

You implied it given you are not vegetarian. I think all methods to obtain meat are inhamane and given you eat meat my point stands.

Skilled harpoonists cause quick death, btw.
