I'm going to be down in the Destin, Fl area this weekend and was thinking about doing a shore dive or two. I've never done any shore dives in the panhandle area, but hear the destin jettie is one of the best options. I've got a few questions -

Does anyone know what the water temp and visibility is like there right now?

Are there any better shore dives nearby that you would recommend instead?

I see that high tide is at noon on Saturday so that would work perfectly into my schedule. Let me know... Thanks!

Visibility in Destin will change from day to day.

Opps, looks like I was looking at the PCB tide tables, not destin.... Does anybody know how cold we're talking?

I would really like to do a shore dive this Saturday.

If we do decide to go out on a boat, what dive boats do you all recommend?

Thanks

My last dive in late January was 56 deg. You will still want to get in by 12:30pm. It also helps if you find someone thats been there and is familiar with the area. It could save you some man I wish I would have done this different or make the mistake of carrying all your gear down to the jetties.

There probly aren't too many boats running right now. Call scuba tech and see if their boat is running or you could drive over to panama city, I'm sure there would be a boat running over there. Just my $.02 worth

Sounds good, Thanks for everyone's help!

What do you all think is the best shore dive in the PC / Destin area? The destin jetties? Or do you like somewhere else better?

PCB Jetties at St. Andrews is one of my favorite shore dives.
