I just looked at the last several years of data from my dive logs and the water temps have consistantly been between 55* and 60* during the months of December and January. When bugman started talking about ice cream headaches it reminded me of one time I dove the Pensacola Pier rubble in the middle of the winter without a hood because the air temps felt so good. I was screaming through my reg until my brain frooze, then I was ok for the rest of the dive :D. It was during this dive that I learned that hoods are really not much of an option during cold water diving (unless you are just into self-torture stuff).

The gulfstream usually brings in warmer water to the bouys that far out. Closer to shore, the water is far more affected by ambient temperatures, especially when its constantly mixing with colder river waters in the bays and passes.

*shrugs*

Just pointing it out so nobody comes out with minimal exposure protection hoping for some warm 70F waters :) I'll likely be there, but I'll bring my thickest wetsuit(drysuit if I had one) and my hoodvest.

Hell, I might even splurge for some booties that don't have holes in them if the job situation is still good! :D

Well it's a good thing I am buying a suit with the hood built in. That way I won't have to torture myself.

This is the tent. I can't say for sure if that's her setting it up (I swore an oath last year). The Butler, Maid, Chef, Nanny, and 7 other servants in heavy makeup came out of one Volkswagen.

You know I do seem to remember a show going on in the background. I have got to quit hitting that rum. ;)

I'll likely bring my 5 mil and a hooded vest. It SBM get new booties I am going to put his old ones over mine.:D

And you will get to feel like that kid in "A Christmas Story".
I can't put my arms down.

At least thats what my Semidry 7 mil feels like.

I'm going to start a new trend with my 4 tow booties... Let you're big tow hang out! :D

LOL, at least I won't put my eye out. The suit I'm looking at is the super stretch neoprene. I tried it on and it is very flexiable.
