This is freaking hilarious, Georgia state troopers celebrating the UGA victory over Spurriers Gamecocks in his face....

I saw that live when it happened.... I was going "did they just bump knuckles of the win right in front of Spurrier?" :rofl3:

Did you see Spurrier in the news today?

Spurrier: Tide used tape trick on field goals

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says Alabama used some tape trickery on field goals and extra points last weekend and is asking the Southeastern Conference if what he saw on video is legal.

Spurrier said Tuesday it looked like the Crimson Tide holder put a small piece of white tape on the ground to spot extra points and field goals, then quickly put the tape in his pocket after the kick.

Spurrier says it’s the first time he has ever seen a team do that.

SEC officials received a formal complaint from South Carolina officials Tuesday and are looking into the matter, league spokesman Charles Bloom said.

Alabama officials say its coaches have been reminded of the rule on placekicks.

Crimson Tide kicker Leigh Tiffin hit both extra points and field goals of 25 and 35 yards Saturday, while missing a 49-yarder. The senior is 9-of-11 on field goals and 21-of-23 on PATs this season.

Spurrier said he has no idea if what he thinks happened is legal.

“I’ve never seen that before,” Spurrier said. “But I’m sure they’ve probably been doing it all year.”

The NCAA football rulebook (Rule 6-3; Article 10; subsection d) says:

“Any device or material used to mark the spot of a scrimmage place kick or elevate the ball makes the kick illegal.”

The penalty is “illegal kick” and is five yards from the previous spot.

The score was a lot closer than the stats would indicate. If it weren't for the one outstanding Defensive player, it would have been 29-6. Next week is a bye (we're only playing UGa), so our players can rest a bit. The BCS and other lists should be out a bit later!

Well, my VOLS came up short. They made a battle of it. Sure wish we could have made one of those three field goals. :shakehead: I still think they are right on the edge and are not being given the credit they are due, or Bama is over-rated. They will be someone to reckon with in the coming years, IMO.

Vols have plenty to smile about - they played the two toughest teams in the nation, and left them both knowing they had played a football game. Moral victories are not real victories, but they sure as hell beat being the whipping boy, which is what the last couple of years have been.
