Saturday dives were really quite surprising. With the clouds and overcast, misty at times skies, and 1' gain in depth of the lake due to the rain north of us, I wasn't expecting much. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Vis was better today than last weekend. the entire 80' wall is now clear. The upper portion of the 100' wall was even clear. We dove the 30- 40' ledge, trench, a portion of 100' wall, the forest, 80' wall, 3big rocks, plane, and finished up on the dam rocks (pet catfish was back). Vis on the 80' wall was at least 20' -and this was with no sun. Tomorrow should be great as the sun is supposed to be out in the afternoon. Dive 2 was the 3 big rocks, 80' wall, top of 100' wall, forest, N wall, big stump, pipe. (vis near the fallen tree and pipe is still low (we will skip this tomorrow), but we found a big cat just laying on the bottom - not bothered by us at all. Dive 1 was 102' for 61 minutes. Dive 2 was 98' for 52 min.

The amazing thing is that they did both of the dives using just pony bottles. I hate that I missed the dive. Mike called and wanted to go but I had to take a train trip with my wife. The trip was fun and she does enough stuff with me (that she may not enjoy) that I guess I do not mind giving up one weekend for her.:)

You missed a good one yesterday. Today's dives were a bit different. We had 2' seas:shakehead: Rain doesn't impact us too much but wind from the East or Northeast does. It stirs the bottom up at bit in the shallows and the waves hitting the clay shoreline areas trashes vis a bit. Vis was not as good as yesterday in the shallows, but it remained great deep and on the plane.

Steve and I had a nice dive Sunday morning. We started out along the dam, lots of small fish swimming along. Made it to the plane and headed toward the 'missile'. We found the missile and followed the path toward the 80' wall. The path has some cool things to see and makes for an interesting dive :cool3: The visibility was a bit murky down to 30' - 40', but the vis improves a lot once you get to the 50' - 80' depth. We dove early about 9:30, so the sun's rays were just breaking over the ledge. I still haven't found your pet catfish, but we'll keep looking. :azvatar:
