Any interest in a Ft. Pickens dive Sept 4th??

Would you like to meet in the parking lot located before the Ft Pickens Rd gate and consolidate gear into 2 vehicles? I have a small SUV...
For that matter, does anyone need a ride from P'cola/GB?

I will not need a ride. I am planning on parking in the parking spaces by the fresh water shower. I will be in a tan Dodge 2500. Lets all meet in the parking lot at 8:00am. This will give us gear up time and give any stragglers a little lee-way so they don't get left.

We probably need to start a list of who is coming so that we don't leave anyone behind. If you are not going to be able to come please post on this thread or PM me. So far I have:

One word of warning. You can get your vehicle stuck in those parking spaces by the showers, if people park close to you on either side...especially if you have a large truck. Just a word of warning...the wall across from the parking spaces by the showers makes that a very tight squeeze.

Im going to be there. I might be a little past eight if I have to get tanks that morning. If I can get them locally before I leave Ill be there on time. Are we planning on a one or two tank dive? Also, this will be my first time there and my first dive since getting certified.

Don't mind new divers at all. We were all new at one time. Bay Breeze dive shop is the closest, here is their link Welcome to Bay Breeze Dive Center

Just make sure to check this thread around Tuesday/Wednesday to make sure everything is still a go.

Double check with Bay Breeze to make sure they'll be open before 8am. I tried to do an early dive at Ft Pickens a few weeks back and when I passed Bay Breeze before 8 to inquire about tanks they were not open. Luckily I had what I needed.

Good point Glen. I have a big truck and as long as I park on the end parking spots in front of the showers I can get out just fine. If I parked in the middle ones things could get a bit hairy backing out. I would have to say the the next best parking is along the seawall. There is actually a spot on the seawall that is right in front of the stairs to get the the dive site, this is a favortite spot amongst dive instructors. I used to like to park by the other parking spot on the left before the left turn towards the shower parking, but they placed a big garbage can out there that can get rather rank in the summer heat. Not the best place to suit up if you want to keep your breakfast down.
