Posting photos in Threads

For some reason I am unable to post pics of items that I have for sale in the Classifieds. The only tab I can find for posting a pic brings up a URL box, any help with this would be appreciated.

You can't paste images directly into a posting. You have to store them somewhere else (for example, your ScubaBoard Gallery) and when your post is displayed, the image will be fetched from that location. The tag that mike_s refers to is included in the posting, to tell the reader's browser 'insert referenced image here'.

The [IMG]http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/images/pxnavyblue/editor/insertimage.gif icon in the post editing toolbar (just above the edit window) automates the creation of

If you want thumbnails linked to bigger images in your for sale posts, you can do that as an attachment in your post.
It's easier than transferring them to our photo gallery first - especially since you'll probably delete them after the sale.

Hit Go Advanced then Manage Attachment in Add'l Options.

Ok, I uploaded some pictures (so that Walter can see them)... but the drop down ULR listings cannot be copied.. every thing else can, but not those.. so I cannot put a SB gallery image into a post, unless I can remember all the numbers and retype them in.. seem a bit silly actually.

I can right click and copy everything else, just not the JPG info.. what gives?

The trick is to drag across and highlight the entire URL then Ctrl-C to cut it. Then paste it in your post.

When you hi-lite the url and copy it to your post, check to make sure the (img) and (/img) tags are there. Using [ ] , not ( ), of course. If the tags are not there add them fore and aft. I have tricked images that wouldn't post this way, into finally posting.

It's weird, if I try to post an image from my gallery to a post using the hotlink to my pics under the smiley list, it doesn't show in the post, it slides the whole SB page down and shows at the top of the screen (have IE8, with SB running in Compatibility View)

It will post if I go to my gallery and copy and paste the link
