Yes rigdiver, please do take your method of diving to another state. We do have laws here in Florida and there are very valid reasons for those laws.

diverlen Go back and read post #71. I don't need a rebreather to boat my share of big fish. It's a good thing Texas is so liberal. We don't need laws protecting us from ourselves. Again: What are the bag limits for???

You go, rigdiver! Try not to flood your loop when some large fish you've plugged takes you on a Nantucket sleigh ride.......oh, yeah, if he takes you vertical it'll be fun to watch you manage your ppO2 - while you're tied to the fish......

Please do your CCR spearfishing quietly so if you become a statistic no one will ever know. CCR's don't need the negative PR.

i agree with some of these guys that it isnt as sporting, im an archrey hunter in PA and this year they passed a law allowing crossbows to be used in regular archery season...using a rebreather seems like a similar issue...it gives user of rebreathers (or crossbows in PAs case) a great advantage over someone freediving (or using a compound/long/recurve bow in PAs case)

BoneDoc,

When an idiot calls me an idiot I don't lose sleep over it. Your arguments are so vulnerable to deconstruction I was annihilating them before finishing each sentence...and that was before my first cup of coffee.

Rant on...maybe you can get a job subbing for Rush Limbaugh.

Biminibill

well then lets hear them?

I'm sure it is "just too far below you to post them" right?

:coffee:

As I recall, atleast in my state, you can only take one deer per day. So what difference does it make if the weapon used is quiet vs loud?

a crossbow only gives you limited additional range over a bow, and takes much longer to reload and involves much more movement. I've used both and prefer a bow actually

consider this, you hiding in a tree stand quietly is pretty similar to hunting on a rebreather
a. you are not making any noise
b. you are hidden, so the deer walk right up to you
c. you have no bubble's for the prey to notice
d. you are using a weapon with a sharp projectile with intent to impale the animal

crossbows require less movement because u dont have to dram back with a crossbow, that is the most critical thisn when using a bow...crossbows are already drawn back for you when the animal is coming in.

And let's hunt at night using a bright light to shine in their eyes. We should also put out some corn and salt, and wait until they show up to eat it in the dead of Winter when there is little else for them to munch on. Oh and don't forget silencers! I might want to shoot that rabbit and a few squirrels while I have my light out, and the silencer will keep them from being scared while I'm shooting my trophy.

Next people will want to hunt with satellite-mounted lasers from the comfort of their couches

But the crossbow won't sneak up on you and kill your ass because you became distracted with shooting the deer...........

The Underwater Hunting Section is a no Troll Zone.

Use of inflammatory labels such as "idiot" in discussions and hoping someone dead to backup a point of view, trying anything to get a response is an example of a TROLL.

Many states have sport fishing laws with clear definitions as to what is sporting.
