today at Santa rosa wall. The crazy thing is it didnt happen at 95-100 feet but when
I tried to go just 3 feet deeper man did it hit me!Felt like I couldnt breathe and a little tipsy at the same time.Overall great dive I have 6 dives in 2 1/2 days so far and Scuba Tony is really great more to come later.

Thats the crazy thing about it.. some people get narc'd at 60' others never get narc'd at all..

I have been 125 without it. The question we have in our family is would I even know it. I dont drink so we are wondering if I would even know what drunk or even tipsy is like??!?

Every dive is different and if you went 103 tomorrow you may not get narc'd... You just never know..

Enjoy the dives.. We are counting down our days till we get there!
Deepest I have been in Coz was 112.

Nice to know that you're diving with someone who I know is watching you carefully. I've never had the problem but odly enough I was trying to explain it to someone today. I'd like to hear more about your experience, symptoms, & what you thought was going on around you at the time. Say Hi to Tony & Carlos for me if you're still there. Larry.

Actually everyone gets narc'd. It's how the symptoms manifest themselves in individuals that make us think that some do and some don't. I have a buddy who swears that he never gets narc'd. Last year I administered a few tests to him at 125 feet. His results were pathetically bad. He never even knew that his judgment was impaired.

(In case you ask, I had a few math and logic problems on a slate. He tried to solve them with a pencil).

everytime i hit past 100, i get narced

during my first few dives at that depth, the narc was real dark and scary ... i felt like i was about to die, dizzy, paranoid

then after a few dives, i just got dumb ... my buddies notice, btw ... i just seem to get real slow and stoned ...

it does get better, but it doesn't go away (in my experience)

I felt a bit tipsy once @ around 60 feet....and then proceeded to have a conversation with myself, reasoning that if I took the reg out of my mouth I could get a nice deep breath :doh2:. Fortunately, in my conversation, with myself, I also called attention to the fact that this was an unreasonable thought, that my judgement was clouded and probably impaired a bit. I instructed myself to move up 10 feet or so and that I would feel much better. I listened to my very sound advice, moved up a bit and felt much better. What is bazaar, after figuring out the time in the dive that Michael saw me moving up and the point in the dive that I realized what had happen, we figured out that we had just communicated a two way all is OK sign. After the fact we realized just how weird it all was. Now, Michael and I have a very special OK sign to each other. I doubt either of us would be able to duplicate it if our thoughts were not all together there. Very Bazaar...

It happen my first time at 100ft. Suddenly I was looking at the diver ahead of me, and then the diver had 4 fins, 4 arms and real dizzy:shakehead: but then I wanted to feed the fish. "Here FISHY, FISHY, FISHY":rofl3: Then I looked toward the dive master, and pretty sure he realized I was narc.... he gave me the sign to come up slowly....10ft up, I was back to normal. :blinking: Been to 129 ft last year but no narc or was I.......................

everyone gets narced, some notice it and some don't realize it at all. It affects everyone differently, just like alcohol.
When I get narced, I don't feel tipsy, I feel slightly panicked and uncomfortable at being at that depth. I look at my gauges over and over. Other people I have spoken with say they see weird things, like mermaids or people swim by them without scuba gear on. LOL

I've had the dark narc, and it's no fun. I've also had the happy kind - 160' in Hawaii in nice clear, warm easy water. IMO, the happy kind can be more dangerous than the scary kind.

HE is your friend. :)

Like robint said, everybody gets narc'd. If you dive, you are under the influence of nitrogen narcosis, period. You may not know it, but you are.
