Hi, does anyone have information about dive charters in Lake Erie? WHat is the water temp in August/September time frame?

In Aug/Sept time frame water temperatures will be in the low 70's range to about 60-70 feet. Then after the first thermal it will drop down to about 50 degrees until you hit about 100-110 feet. Then you hit the cold thermal that drops down to about 40-45 degrees.

Best charters are from Osprey dive charters. But most wrecks in lake erie are in the 100 foot plus range.

Depending on the day, both local dive shops do river drifts in the niagara river. One does Wed. nights and the other some Friday nights. Its a fun dive from shore, shallow, in the 20-30 feet range. If your not around those nights, I'm sure if you PMed someone from the area they would give you details on the dive and maybe go with ya

There are also 2 querry's in Canada about 20 minutes from Buffalo, one is max 30 feet, the other max 45-50 feet. The later flooded in operation and has steam engines and ore cars. However it mucks up bad in the july-aug time frame.
