Local shore dive:

Nitrox fill: 0.65 (I buy a yearly membership for $650, and use at least 100 Nitrox fills)

Your getting a pretty good deal on Nitrox, but not that good. You need to use one thousand fills per year to get them at 65 cents each.

Nitrox fills $8 each w/ a 10 fill card - think air is $4 per fill; have not used air in 10 years so not 100% sure.

2 tank charter (Jupiter FL) $48 w/ purchase of 10 trip card
In Palm Beach, is about $70; in the Keys $70 - $75 for a 2 tank trip.

My own boat (if you look at the name I post under, you can likely figure out the type of boat I own):

Wrecks off Key Biscayne - +/- 8 miles from my dock, figure 1 gallon per mile, crusing at 30 mph - twin 250 yamahas; $3.00/gallon ( a little more than the gas station b/c they deliver to the house and charge for that - more at the marinas)+ oil; I will burn +/- 20 gal. a day = $60 + $8 for oil, call it $70; makes sense if at least 2 divers aboard.

Pesky decimal points. Wanna dive deco on the fly with me? :D

Instead or redoing the math, simply dive ten times more than you are now. I don't see what is so complicated about correcting the decimal point....

Well, I was working on it before I got hurt :)

Kids these days, when I was your age, we dived 20 miles uphill both ways, in the snow, with nothing but boards strapped to our feet, and we were glad it wasn't fifty miles. ;-) we calculated our SAC's with a burnt stick and a rock at 300 feet. When we ran out of air, we had to filter our own from the ocean around us, with nothing but a and old bottle and a porthole. Geeez. ;-)

I didn't know you were injured.Sorry to hear it Going to fully recover, I hope?

Shore dive:
Air Fill $5
Parking $0-$9
Petrol $3-$16 (40km to 200km round trip depending on where I go)
Tolls $0-$10
Food $10-$15
--------------------
Total $18 to $55

Charter dive:
Air Fill $5 or Nitrox $16
Petrol $16
Tolls $10
Charter fee per dive $43-$58
Food $10-$15
--------------------
Total $84 to $115

The petrol and toll costs are usually split in two with a buddy as we take turns each week to drive. I know the OP said not to include extras like car use and so on, but they are basic costs for me that I have to plan for when going diving :)

Rebreather costs ( I dont know much about those, but I'd like to know).
Sofnolime: $6.00
Batteries: $1.00
Trimix & O2 for several dives: $0.000000001

;)
