A Canadian sitting on the sideline for 11 1/2 months out of the diving year and wants to decide when another man felt deathly fear.

wow... nice thing to say about a person you know nothing about. I'm Canadian and dive every weekend, especially in the winter because the vis is better. They're called drysuits. Don't be a D!<k unless it's absolutely necessary.

I feel deathly fear every time I go into the DIR forum and mention diving with my split fins and poodle jacket . . .

I've said it in other threads regarding this, but I call BS. It just doesn't add up to me. The guy felt the need to take 6 'self-defense' shots? In the 2 hours of 'fighting', neither could get to the boat? Or the boat couldn't get closer to lend a hand? Or there were no other able-bodied crew around to give a hand? Where is the blood? I've seen this article and a couple others, there's a ghost of blood in one pic, but that's all. He must have been one hell of a strong guy to take an animal four times his size out of his element, and turn the animal so it is up/down. If a shark were attacking, I don't think it would assume the pugilist's position. Sharks like to try to attack with what they have, ie teeth, not fins. The damn thing looks lifeless in all of the pics. Also, this happened in January, why did the story just come out? They had to pick out the photos that supported their BS story.

The down turn in the economy?

Generalize much? Obviously thinking does not come naturally to you. If the lack of brains could sideline a person, you might be out of the water forever. Perhaps turn the brain ON next time you type and actually think about what you are saying.

So instead of his friend trying to swim around the shark while his buddy was being attacked, he swam around and took pictures, FOR TWO HOURS . . .

thats a great buddy . . .

It goes something like this:
"I got your back good buddy! Go get that mean and nasty shark!"
"OK thanks. Watch my back just in case!"
"Ooohhh a shark just bit your ass. Sorry I kind of snapped the picture a little late." :shakehead:

Steve, I can understand the she-males and fruit-loops hanging around the "incident" thread but what are you all doing here....provocation, propaganda?

Which one are you? a She-male or Fruit-Loop?

"you all"? Are you talking about all of my personalities :D?

What about my post was me spreading propoganda pescador? I was simply responding to one poster's generalization about Canadians which was inappropriate. How about you? Are you perhaps looking to :stirpot:?

But this is JUST FOR YOU :D just so you can say you were right about me.

LOL !:rofl3:Its Ok Steve, thanks for putting SpearSebastion in his place. I generally tend to ignore stupid remarks like that from inexperienced warm water wussies with 5 posts on S.B. whose only skill is in spearing fish and killing sharks.
11 1/2 months of the year? want to see dangerous? SpearSebastion come on up here to Canada and I will take you scootering under the ice. Bring your bathing suit or whatever it is you wear down there.
The twit is probably generalizing that I have never been amongst sharks!!

It is so obvious that this was pure promotion (they just happened to have a photographer and videographer with them?). And I've got to give them credit...IT WORKED!! CNN, Fox News, etc. all picked up the story. I'm sure these guys website was overrun with hits. But it is kind of lame to play up the "I was saving my buddy from certain death" angle. That attached news story is way over the top.

I don't condone it and absolutely do not think these guys should be treated like legends or heros They killed a shark-they'll cut out the jaws and throw the rest in the water for the crabs. Kind of a waste in the end...
