actually haven't seen the news yet today I do think they are settling down a bit. They are letting more people into the areas to the remains of their homes. Unfortunatly a volunteer firefighter from out of state was killed in the cleanup process.

Investigations are going on and they have arrested at least one... possibly two for setting the fires.

We have a very large fire (42,000 acres) burning out of control in the Wilson's Promontory National Park, south of where I am, which can't be fought by land, and the other large fire up past Kinglake (the Kilmore- Murrindindi fire) also still burning out of control over approx 264,000 acres. The one near me at Bunyip is also still burning and has destroyed 60,500 acres. 209 people have lost their lives. Sheila I'd like to remind any Aussies or friends of Aussies that the National day of Mourning is tomorrow, service at 11 am EDST; it's being streamed live on the ABC and can be viewed on this site:

Man, those fires are awful.

We rarely get bad ones here, but I remember some dummy lit one on accident and it chewed up a good chunk of the wildlife management area here by the house. My brother lived within 200 yards of where they stopped it. Scary stuff.

I'll be at work so i can't watch , but i wish I could.

Yep, pretty bad, as are all fires.
