Mike,

I'm not surprised that only 22 of 37 passed the test. Like I said, I thought it was a tough one.

Having said that, I'm feeling better about my chances to actually get to be a volunteer. (Previously, I was thinking that there would be about 200 taking the test, then getting screened down to only about 20 volunteers....long odds.)

I'll look for you on the 25th.

Ron

Be prepared to do all of your basic skills and a few other things we will throw at you. Remember you must supply all of your own gear. Also READ the paperwork you recieved fully and carefully. Be prepared to give your short presentation to your interviewers. remember it can be on any subject you choose. Don't forget your C Cards and your dive log. Remember must have at least AOW and 30 LOGGED dives If I had to give just one suggestion to anyone it would be weight belt Best of luck See you there. Remember to have fun

I'd second Mike's recommendation to wear a weightbelt! Also, remember that everyone there wants you to do well - if you have questions, please ask. Relax and have fun.

Jackie

Well scuba boarders.... What did you think of the in water skills test?? Was that fun or what?

Mike,

I got to (briefly) meet Jackie (in the water) today, but I missed you. (Not that hard considering how many of you volunteers there were crawling all over that place.)

The part I liked least was the interview....not because I was uncomfortable with it, but because they're trying to get a read on some very subjective, intangible factors.

I did enjoy the rest, though. I was very glad to have gotten the advice to use a weight belt. I suspect pushing my BCD through the barrel without it would have been a real challenge.

Actually, the part that was really the worst was lugging my equipment (including weights and tank) from the parking lot across the street.

It'll be tough waiting to get the result.

Thanks to you and Jackie for the advice.

Regards,

Ron
