Alternatives to Hyperstretch

I currently own two Henderson titanium hyper-stretch wetsuits. A 7mm full and a 3mm Aqua-suede. I love these suits, they are easy to get on/off, they fit well, and I hardly notice them in/out of the water. I have watched others put on non-hyper suits and laugh to myself at the energy they expend just getting the suits pulled up. I do have one gripe with the hypers though, the damn Velcro problem. The outside of the suit wears so damn quick with any contact at all. I know it doesn't effect performance but it looks like crap .

My question, are there any other suits/manf's out there who make a suit as easy to put on/off and feels as great as a hyper without the problems with Velcro/wear. I have to get a 5mm for a trip to Stuart's in February and don't want to spend 300$ on a suit that is going to look like crap after a week of diving.

Tilos makes a Titanium Super-Stretch Glideskin. Does what a Henderson does for less $$. My buddy has one, it still looks good after 2 years as the outside is conventional black/blue neoprene. It's a TI suit if it's silver inside.

FYI - You don't need to be certified to dive a drysuit.

Xcel Vortex - just as stretchy as hyperstretch, wears way better and is way warmer for the same thickness.

Save the $300 and wear the 7mm get a Drysuit.

This is interesting to hear. I bought a 3mm Henderson Hyperstretch for a trip to Florida last fall, but the water was so warm that I never wore it. So, here it is a year later and of course it looks brand new. Dunno when I will get a chance to wear it (I use a drysuit when diving locally), but it's interesting to hear it's going to look like crap when I do. Can you tell me more about this "velcro effect" you talk about?
