I don't find it rude; however, I think it's naive and certainally out of place.

Someone mentioned the survey results as being interesting... That's where the naive part comes in. I checked the 0-15k box because it's no ones business. Have you noticed that about 40% make $100k or better. WOW!

All those people better be pulling for McCain. I'm pulling for McCain. Obama will steal it all away.

Of course the results are going to be as accurate as the story of me diving to 1000 fsw on a single al 80 and finding a chest full of treasure somewhere near Atlantis.

I mean there is some truth there... I do dive...

All these crazy anonymous polls

I always laugh when people talk about how expensive scuba is......

hubby took up bike/cycling lately and omg - talk about expensive!

at least with scuba gear you have alot of choices (ie lds or online, aussie or overseas), selling bikes is where the money is!

btw - we need another option in the poll.... how much money do you make - "not enough"

How about: the difference between what you make and what you owe?

I think SCUBA is cheap compared to raising a couple of kids through college and grad school. And the whole family dives.
Good thing I am freakin loaded

Does my boat count (purchased solely for diving) as dive gear? Anyway, as others have said, there are ways to get into diving without spending an arm and a leg. I began diving back in 1983 when I only made $6 an hour--part time and going to school. What happens is this--the minimum start up costs is less than one thinks, but "the sky is the limit" as to how much one can spend if they desire too.

not nearly enough to support my diving habit and my family, always could use more, but i'm not willing to work some job that requires you to work all hours and not really the greatest pay either, always easier to have one ok job, and work a second job to get ahead and decide to quit the second job then it is to work one job that requires all of your time and you can't look for anouther when you finally need a change because you are so burt out. would love to have a job that involved diving or fitness that would make you want to go to work every day, but nothing ever seems to be a good enough opportunity to risk leaving the other job. definately a lot easier if you are single and not having the pressure of supporting a family
