That sucks. It would be nice to organize a pressure movement on the largest scuba forum board in the world, but doesn't seem to be much interest. :(

It may take a while to catch on. Now what was that site for the tester? It could be added to my sig(keep it in sight)

Just to let you guys know...
I made enquiries about these as we spend most of our time diving in Asian regions some of which seriously lack any feeling of 'safeness' even though we do our best to get a look at the gas filling stations etc. The CO Cop is great news BUT....

when I contacted Scuba Toys about ordering one.... they have informed me that they are no longer being manufactured... a great let down but perhaps someone has heard of a similar tester for wandering divers like us...?

I am in agreeance totally that there needs to be more stringent monitoring of air quality testing and am willing to support any movement to push for this but considering the growth of the dive industry, I think this is going to take some time and a lot of lobbying and perhaps even more reporting from divers of incidents where air quality is suspect (but considering the number of elements that can contribute to diver's headaches and illness, even this is hard to establish) but in the meantime, I guess we should all consider taking our own safety as our own responsibility and just as we do with gear, find a way to monitor the CO levels in the air we breathe underwater.

So, anyone who has any idea of any other product which is as travel friendly as the CO Cop but is still manufactured... please let us know...

Sorry, I thot I posted the outcome on this one. I spoke with the manufacture. He cannot produce this for less than $150 his cost and it took 10 years to sell off the first run - the last ones at a loss thru Scuba Toys. No longer available.

But the one in my Sig - or this link - is cost effective enough and more accurate. $140 plus freight, don't have to calibrate for a year, can leave on 24/7 and change batteries yourself. The most appealing I could find after extensive searching. Hope that works for you....

Right - feeling silly - have found the other thread of CO monitors.... cheers on that - ordering one of them instead!

Super. Let me know if you have any questions as I have really worked on this. I have not seen mine yet. I had it sent to my Instructor who was leaving for Utila. I'll see it in a week. With the operators who do send in samples tho - 3% fail, some horribly; who knows about the ones who don't send. The idea has been needed all along, but now it is technically possible at a low price. :thumb:
