"Public" means just that. You should never post any information about yourself that you don't want EVERYONE to have access to. And by everyone that means anyone who has access to the internet, anywhere in the world, and once information is posted it can be out there, somewhere, forever. I do occasionally find someone's public profile usefull in that there are times it makes that person's posts a bit more interesting or informative if you know a little bit about the poster, not that someone couldn't make up a totally false profile, if they wanted or needed to.
I find it hard to get excited about who views my profile. Of course no one is ever going to stalk me, either, so maybe that's why it doesn't concern me like it might someone else. I sort of assumed that the ID of viewers was always available, just not where we could see it. There is no privacy on the internet.

AFAIK, it was never registered in the database prior to this release of vB.

Actually, Dave4868, you just ruined my day. I was blissfully unaware of this feature until 3 minutes ago. Ignorance, as they say, is bliss.

After checking 2 or 3 of the other profiles, I checked mine. I have only 5 people on my stalker list. And one of them is me.
I have just come to terms with that fact that, I, in fact, am not one of the "cool kids".
