I am using an oceanic Delta 4 second stage with the FDX-10 first stage. I found I had to bite down at times (specially when turning my head) so that I wouldn't loose the mouth piece. I have also switched the position of the primary and secondary on the first stage to alleviate some of the pressure the hose created from the bend it makes coming around. I have also thought about turning the tank a little when mounting it to the BCD to widen the arc as well.

Try the Seacure, I use it with great success, but if the first stage on the FDX-10 is the same as on the CDX-5, the ports are poorly placed. I also tried the hose switch, but even with the Seacure, I still have some tugging that I didn't have on my old Sherwood Brut. I think a swivel might be the next thing to try.

I have also read changing the length of your second stage hose might help. But you really can't beat the Seacure mouthpiece.

I never gave it a whole lot of thought until I had my regs serviced and they put what they had in stock on mine..I tried it and hated it, so I asked "what happened to the Zeagles?" We didn't have any so we put on what we had..."order me a Zeagle!"

I like my Zeagles! (he uses a Comfobite...but didn't have any of those either!)

That was the same problem my wife had, we went from a 30 to a 36 inch holes, the 36 is a miflex. And now NO MORE TUGGING

How many have changed out their mouth piece on their regulator?
I did.
Which one did you choose and why?
Seacure. LDS suggested it, I tried it. Love it
Did it help reduce jaw fatigue?
Yes. Before, I felt like I was having to clamp down on a skimpy moutpiece to keep it in my mouth. Now my mouth more or 'relaxes' around the Seacure.

Thanks All, I tried a couple of the suggestions... raise tank, move the hose to rear port, etc.... and I tried it out at 40 Fathom Grotto last weekend on my AOW deep and Peak Performance Buoyancy dives... still a little uncomfortable so I figure I am going to try the Seacure next weekend at Venice Beach IF the weather holds out....

Antoher vote here for switching to a Miflex hose. You will find little to no resistance caused by the hose and therefore do not have to bite down as hard on the mouthpiece. The Miflex hoses are absolutly great.

I got the Seacure at the end of the last season. I can tell you just from the molding process and playing with it, its gonna be a night and day difference from a regular Rubber mouth piece.
Anything you can mold to your fit it likely to be better. I feel this will keep me from biting down because it just fits to my mouth. No need to bite to keep it in there

I noticed during this last weekend of diving I would have to hold my regulator in my mouth for a few minutes to give my jaw a rest and I am thinking about a new mouth piece to help eliminate this issue. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Just one of the reasons I got an Atomic B2, no need to upgrade parts.:blinking:
