So here's a question with regards to our competitors....

What, in your opinion, are the top 5 things that other cometitors have that we do not? Whether that is a service, product or otherwise....

Until the next Dive,
Tyler

Tyler...you know how much I love the Fusion and all Whites' products. But, a few things I would add...

1. A compressed neoprene women's cut drysuit under $1600 MSRP.
2. Narrow, built in boots
3. drygloves with an easy snap system and easy to install like the diving concepts rings
4. An easy, cheap way to switch out seals (for rental use)
5. Women's cut undergarments

I am quite demanding, aren't I?

That´s right Tradewinddiver...

A weightharness would be nice!!!
But with a good design and where the people thougt about the belts!!!
Because using a weightharness the belt on the stomage usually comes on the place were the stomage belt has to be from the wing or trimjack.
The same problem on the choulders!!!
Also the weightpockets has to be on a place - not to much on the front!! - where they dont disturb you by putting things on D-rings and so on...

Yes!!! a nice developed weightharness wil be great!!
Or a system of pockets to put weight in that can be fitted on the belts used on the wing.

All great ideas and suggestions....

Any other ideas? Or more of the same? The more we see demand for one product from multiple sources, the more we look into it....

Thanks All!

Just as an aside Amy, at least for me, the DC rings are the biggest PITA to install that I've seen - especially when compared to the Si-Tec squeezes-on rings. I'd suggest that the Si-Tec squeezes-on are the answer you are looking for, actually.

And the new Si-Tec rings? Waaaay too expensive and kind of flaily to use, I'll stick with the squeezes-on.

As for Tyler's question....hmmm.... I can think of a few things that the Whites are missing, that other manufacturers feature:

  • Mystery leaks that come and go
  • Service from the factory that takes a month or two, and still leaks when returned
  • Prices in the stratosphere
  • "You'll take what we offer because we know better than you"
  • Lack of innovation - same-old-same-old

In all honesty, as a drysuit manufacturer, all I can think of is flat, adhered to the suit pocket on suits like the 360 and Legend. When I was considering the 360, I was dreading the plate and pocket combo - it's a line catcher and not as easy to open and cram stuff into.

Oh, yes - I'm drooling over the Otter Bay 12mm drysuit hood.

All the best, James

Edit: I guess what I'm trying to say (in a tounge-in-cheek kind of way) is that there's lots of stuff that Whites is doing right, that the others are doing wrong, and don't neglect your strengths.

It is right, I love all the things on my catalyst 360!!!
It is a dream diving with it!!!

If there is one thing that I can find to get better....
I have to think hard... but...

If posible make the neopreen board on the neck-seal al little bit higher!!!
So it is easyer to put the under-part of the hood in it...
It would be a warmer in the cold water ;O))))))

The matrix an the pockets you can put on are great!!!

James...the DC gloves take about 10 minutes to install and the rings are a little bigger so they work for almost everyone. Their ring system also allows for installation of a latex seal too, if you didn't want to wear drygloves. We have installed them on almost every suit we have sold, and they are great.

It's that whole split ring tool - get it inside and have it slip off - swear lustily thing that put me off of DC gloves. <shrugs> Some folks have the knack, I don't.

All the best, James

Having now been a user of the new SiTech Dryrings for a while now...I can honsetly say that I am hooked. I would spend the extra money for them personally. I can take them on and off in the water without any help at all....

Now if only SiTech would drop their prices.....

Cheers all...
